Hosting a Swedish girl was a nice experience. I liked this new experience so much that I would like to do it again. It was also useful to improve my English and learn new words. The girl that I hosted came from Eskilstuna in Sweden ,she was very nice . I offered her the typical dishes of my region and told her the history of Manduria.
She liked Italian food very much.
We visited churches, monuments, historical sites in my town, the Plinian Spring, the Messapian Walls and together with some of my classmates we were guides for all the foreign partners. She was very happy to spend some days here with me and my friends . It was a great experience I will never forget.

On the 13th of December boys and girls coming from Sweden, Spain, Hungary and Germany arrived at my school because we are one country partner of the Comenius project. In fact one of my classmates hosted a Swedish girl named Alexandra, who was very nice. The next day, some of my classmates and I went down to the school library to show the power point presentation about environmental pollution in my town. After that, we walked from my school to the "Fonte Pliniano" to show them this beautiful monument, the symbol of my town. Once back to school, our teacher told us that the next day, some students would go to visit Lecce and its beautiful churches, but I couldn't go there.
On the 16th December, some mates from my class and I went again to the library to draw and write about the causes of pollution and my group decided to illustrate water pollution.
For me this experience was very nice because I knew other boys and girls even if I didn’t hosted anyone, and then because I spent a few days in a marvelous way. I hope in the future I'll do other experiences as this one.

REPORT
A week before Christmas a group of students from some European countries came to my school. They were from Spain, Sweden, Germany and Hungary, and they were nice and friendly. I met all the students and I spoke to them in English and so I tested my English. This experience was really fantastic and incredible because I had never met people from other countries before . These students stayed in Italy five days. We had fun and on the second day we went to the Messapian Walls in Manduria. The third day we went to Lecce and we visited it. We spoke a lot to the Swedish girls. They were hosted by Italian families and students. This experience was very interesting and educational for me.

A week before Christmas a group of foreign students came to Manduria and stayed here for five days. They came from Sweden, Spain, Hungary and Germany. Some of the students of my school gave hospitality to them. Every Italian student could have as a host a foreign girl or boy. One of my classmates, Sara, hosted a girl, Kajsa. For this reason I had the chance to speak in English to her. It wasn't the first time I had spoken in English to a person who couldn't understand me in Italian. But however it was a brilliant experience because talking to a girl of the same age about everything, is fantastic, it makes you feel happier because you can communicate with everybody .
During those days we visited the Messapian Walls, we explained them what they are, when they were built and other details. We walked into the Messapian Park and we stopped to sit down and eat something. We took a lot of photos together with the foreign students, we stroke up a friendship with them and then we went back to school.
The day after we went to Lecce to visit the city, the churches and the monuments. We enjoyed ourselves a lot because the foreign students were so friendly and they sometimes pulled our leg. We ate at Mc Donald's, we took a lot of photos and then we came back. While we were in the bus, I passed a paper and a pen and I asked the foreign students their e-mails and their names on facebook to keep in touch.
It was a beautiful experience because I realized that I can speak to a person in English without any problem and I was satisfied. I am happy because I have met people so friendly and so patient to listen to me and communicate.

REPORT 3° ITER, Iunco e Mariggiò.
The Comenius Project is a project that gives us a lot of opportunities, to know new people and new cultures.
We have already gone to Spain, so the Spanish girls have come here to our houses.
They arrived on the night of the 13th of December and, when we met them, we were very happy to see them again.
The next morning ( 14th of December), we went to the school library to talk about environment and then we went to the Archeological Park of Manduria.
There, we amused ourselves.
After, we returned to our houses and we had lunch.
In the afternoon we went out all together in the centre of Manduria, and then we were guides for one of the most important churches in Manduria, the “Collegiate Church”.
The next day ( 15th of December),we visited Lecce. At lunch we ate at school and then we made Christmas Decorations (Christmas tree and nativity).
After, we went to Francesca’s house, a girl who hosted a Swedish girl, to play cards together.
On the 16th of December, we made groups of students, in the library, to do a slogan for the project.
Then we went to Salentina Coast by bus. It was very beautiful.
We returned to our houses for lunch, and in the afternoon, we went shopping in Taranto
At night, we all went together to a Pizzeria in Sava.
On the 17th of December, the partners students had to return to their countries and we were all very sad to see them go.

On the 14 December 2011, Swedish, Hungarian, German and Spanish students came to visit our school. Then we went to the school library where we presented our power point work about pollution in our land, through photos, taken by us, with a brief description in English that we had to read. I was there among these students and teachers and I was very excited. The foreign girls and boys also showed us pictures of their countries and it was very interesting.
Then we walked to the "Source of Pliny" where some of my classmates and other students of the school explained the story of this Manduria’s monument. After that we got back to school and admired a Christmas crib made by other students from other classes.
This was a very exciting and meaningful experience, because I have understood that the problem of pollution exists not only in Italy but all over the world and that we can do our best to help reduce it.

Last 13th December, we went to the Fonte Pliniano, the famous monument here in Manduria, for the Comenius project, with students from: Italy, of course, Spain, Hungary, Germany and Sweden. The purpose of this project is to let each country know the others, (so Manduria and the Salento too) , to strengthen the sense of belonging to Europe of young people and to improve our English. Very important was the contribution made by families who gave hospitality to foreign students. I really liked this experience!

THE COMENIUS PROJECT
The 14th December boys and girls coming from Sweden, Spain, Germany and Hungary came to visit us. They were hosted by some boys and girls of my school who participate to the Comenius project. In my class, my friend Giovanni, hosted a Swedish girl named Alexandra. We introduced ourselves and then we went to the library, where, with our power point presentation we illustrated the problem of pollution and foreign students did the same. After that, we went to the “Fonte Pliniano”. We described and explained the importance of it for Manduria and after that we got back to school.
The next day, some students of my class, including myself, and other students of the other third classes, were selected by our English teachers, to go with the foreign students to visit Lecce. Here we visited some churches, we went to St. Oronzo square, and then we were free and had a little time to go around. Marina and I, got into a bar and then we went shopping with the Swedish girl who was with us. At the fixed time we returned to the meeting point, we took the coach and we came back to school.
The last day my friends and I were called by our teacher and we went to the library. There in groups of 3 or 4 we were asked to draw or write something about the various forms of pollution and solutions I dealt with the problem of water pollution. At the end of this activity, we came back to our class and had regular lessons. Participating to the activities of the Comenius project has been a wonderful experience because it was a different way to know and understand that pollution isn’t just our problem but a general one, that we can solve together!
